From the movies, to the animated films, to the comic and beyond, I just adore that red lug. So with common sense applied, I decided it was time to do some fan art of the guy. Be forewarned, my fan art shows a bit more than even Hellboy would like. (aka NSFW)<div><a name='more'></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjOQ2oN1uDico8ugQ_VTawhN-8nRdXihTuT005WFQIU67zQkT40Lz6pWFRbXti28CEl8D8qvf19IsYZGCZImBI4_R7WHq-1iY-ElsquYlrvgHWIaswPHvPNjS-7EDQJOUH6uejsrgiUApS/s1600/Hellboy.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjOQ2oN1uDico8ugQ_VTawhN-8nRdXihTuT005WFQIU67zQkT40Lz6pWFRbXti28CEl8D8qvf19IsYZGCZImBI4_R7WHq-1iY-ElsquYlrvgHWIaswPHvPNjS-7EDQJOUH6uejsrgiUApS/s400/Hellboy.png" width="390" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Of course this is still a work in progress, I want to draw more with the background and eventually do a comic style shading to it, but at least you can see where I'm going with it. (my bf is the one who also convinced me to try drawing the nude version, but I'm glad he did.)</div>Omegarohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14945606178051681616noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1778000849813756111.post-21869809962758199682010-03-01T01:59:00.000-08:002010-03-01T02:00:46.228-08:00Game Talk - BLOOM EFFECTSEver noticed how so many games near the start of this generation were so bloom heavy? It was as if the developers thought that by making their games look like a airbrushed perfume ads, it would create a sense of realism and importance. Take for instance <a href="http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/711/711723/the-legend-of-zelda-twilight-princess-wii-version-20060607043210896.jpg">Zelda Twilight Princess</a>, <a href="http://www.elderscrolls.com/images/art/ob_pc/obliv04B.jpg">Oblivion</a>, or even <a href="http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/777/777964/lair-20070403022951202.jpg">Lair</a> ( bad game blah blah blah.) These games just took the idea of bloom and just went overboard. Every thing was just showered in glowing light. Close up of Zelda near the start were just painful because of the blinding use of the effect.<br />
<br />
But why would so many developers feel the need to use this technique so heavily? So I wanted to see how real life pictures changed when adding in small amounts of bloom. Trying to divulge what they had in mind.<br />
<br />
More after the Jump~<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
~----*-----~<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_TPRzq6wV-hhHsKHdhqpHDbCbHAOBNUU5ujk8LJDfy5SIcNbAecyAU8x3pQtopj3-4lA9SuAhP_iniM9gJmx5nYrT02TEnXeV-yXZasbIjy04XlAhml3XnbZ_pEiIWiJhpFJojcAa2YBn/s1600-h/bloom1-omegaro.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_TPRzq6wV-hhHsKHdhqpHDbCbHAOBNUU5ujk8LJDfy5SIcNbAecyAU8x3pQtopj3-4lA9SuAhP_iniM9gJmx5nYrT02TEnXeV-yXZasbIjy04XlAhml3XnbZ_pEiIWiJhpFJojcAa2YBn/s320/bloom1-omegaro.png" /></a><br />
So here's a really gay picture of me taken by my webcam. Messy unkept hair, strange lowered glasses, tired baggy eyes, etc. You get the point, I like the picture, but it has major flaws. The "trying to hard" syndrome.<br />
<br />
But when you take a little bloom magic and add it into the mix, what do you get? <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje-JEZwRG5uX0jaxZt-bOuCtjfxtpQx_ogVSqXLJeFQxZ0BEfOAz4ftO6qzCxDVVZSe_GM863yq3mxFX6BDOz3-Sxcz-rDCDODv3NyjIXsD0e4-Ud4T54tSepIcdRtxHMsuDd_YEF8V2gX/s1600-h/bloom-omegaro.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje-JEZwRG5uX0jaxZt-bOuCtjfxtpQx_ogVSqXLJeFQxZ0BEfOAz4ftO6qzCxDVVZSe_GM863yq3mxFX6BDOz3-Sxcz-rDCDODv3NyjIXsD0e4-Ud4T54tSepIcdRtxHMsuDd_YEF8V2gX/s320/bloom-omegaro.png" /></a></div>BOOM! Even gayer bloom induced, airbrush looking Omegaro. Now why would developers like this look in their games? If you take a closer look, you'll see some minor unnoticed changes.<br />
<br />
First and foremost is my skin. No longer does my skin look pale and lifeless due to the toll of sleepless nights of gaming and drawing. Now replaced by a softer, smoother, and more lively tone, the bloom has done away with any signs of fatigue and imperfection. Baggy eyes, gone. Wiry hair, vanished. Say hello to great skin, full luscious hair, and deep inviting eyes (although still very gray.) All done with just a simple overlay of bloom.<br />
<br />
<br />
Now this was just a test of minor bloom effects. Most early games went bounds and leaps more as they pushed how far this technical mechanic could remove small but noticeable imperfections in the character models and environments in their games. As developers became more adjusted to the new hardware, the infamous bloom effect went through severe moderation. But it does make you wonder; just how many shortcuts developers take in the early years of new consoles to cover their slight mishaps of handling the new technology.<br />

I'm been stuck in a vicious art block for a month and a half, but luckily it passed. During that time though I beat Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Great game, even if it was a tad slow to start off to the good parts. So here is a small preview of the Roxas drawing I'm working on now~<br />

So here's a preview of the first digital painted halo art I've done. Expect the finished version in two or three days (give or take.)<br />

</div>Ah, Princess Peach. Is there anything she can't do... besides not get kidnapped by bowser, or make saving her worth while, or not being a general stereotype for all women everywhere?<br />
<br />
Well she did have her own game on the DS...where she cried... a lot...<br />
<br />

<br />
This image is actually over 3 years old, but I still love it.<br />
<br />
<br />
Well that's just a tiny sample of the excessive amount of video game fan art I do. I may do a sequel post to this one later. ^^<br />

Here is just one panel of a Layton meme I started.<br />

This however is just a teeny tiny clip from the overall image. I'm still working on the boat and the charaters (along with other details like rain) but you can see why this is taking some time. This image just shows about 1/24 of the full image. So this is a very small preview. I post another preview when I get more done!<br />
<br />
Now I sincerly sorry for the annoying watermarks on all of the images, but I got to keepem since this images arn't done yet. I can't have people stealing my unfinished works, now can I. ^^<br />
<br />
Well that's all for now.<br />
<br />
Ciao,<br />

<br />
Well this is new. I've always knew about how people would keep their life's issues and happenings on blogs like these, but I always found them time consuming and pointless... Sadly I was right, but it is an enjoyable manner to use spare time. ^^<br />
<br />
Welcome to my Blogspot - Without Denouement <span class="pronset"><span class="show_ipapr" style="display: none;"><span class="prondelim">/</span><span class="pron">ˌdeɪ<img alt="" border="0" class="luna-Img" src="http://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.png" />nuˈmɑ̃</span><span class="prondelim">/</span> <span class="pron_toggle" style="display: inline;"> <a alt="Toggle for Spelled Pronunciation" class="pronlink" href="" onclick="javascript:show_sp()" onmouseout="status='';return true;" onmouseover="status='Click to toggle pronunciation';return true;" title="Click to show spelled pronunciation">Show Spelled Pronunciation</a> </span> <a href="http://dictionary.reference.com/help/luna/IPA_pron_key.html" target="_blank"><img border="0" class="luna-Img" onmouseout="swapLunaImage('selected', this);" onmouseover="swapLunaImage('default', this);" src="http://cache.lexico.com/g/d/dictionary_questionbutton_default.gif" /></a> </span><span class="show_spellpr" style="display: inline;"><span class="prondelim">[</span><span class="pron">dey-noo-<span class="boldface">mah<span class="sc">n</span></span></span><span class="prondelim">]</span></span></span>. That's just a fancy way of saying without a finale, climax, conclusion or any other synonym for ending. It's just more fun to say! I'll be keeping track of my art, projects, ranting, raving, life's trifles, and so much more on here. I'll even have artworks on here that I will not post anywhere else! So there's some incentive for visiting here!<br />
<br />
For the next week, I'll be posting some of my older artworks and compare them to some new works! Just to see how I've improved in the last few years! ^^<br />
<br />
Well Cya later~<br />
<br />
PS: I'm not always going to be the one talking in these posts, I thought it would be humorious if I made some of my original character's post some articles here! (just to be different/crazy)<br />
<br />
PPS: I won't call this site by it's full name from now on. I'll just abriviate it to WDOmegarohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14945606178051681616noreply@blogger.com0
